About appliance services

Prev Next

The appliance health services are grouped into the following categories:

  • Analysis

  • Cloud Detection

  • DTI

  • Network Processing

  • System

  • Metadata Streaming

Statistical data for appliance services is collected, reported, and stored on the appliance. You can monitor the health status of these services from the Web UI dashboard Service Health Statistics Trend chart and the About > Health Check > Services Health widget. Health services can also be configured and monitored by using CLI commands.

From the Web UI dashboard you can do the following:

  • Select one or more services to monitor for health status.

  • View a timeline graph of service health status in Healthy, Warning, Critical, and Disabled state.

  • Hover over the graph to display a pop-up service status window.

  • View the health of services by Day, Week, and Month.

  • View notifications for degraded services and steps for recovery.

If a service is degraded or fails, a notification appears under the notification bell in the top right of the Web UI dashboard. Services that need attention are identified with critical (red) or warning (yellow) severity. Click the View Recovery Steps link to see suggestions for repairing the service.

Additionally, when you are not logged in, you can be notified through email notification alerts if specific appliance services degrade or fail. You configure email notification thresholds using the CLI.
