Backward-compatible policies allow you to use the latest Trellix DLP extension format with older Trellix DLP Endpoint and Trellix Device Control client versions. This feature provides large enterprises with an orderly upgrade path.
Client versions in the network must be 9.4.0 or later. To upgrade from Trellix DLP Endpoint client version 9.3.x, see KB85478. To upgrade policies, incidents, or operational events to work with the current Trellix DLP extension, use the DLP Policy Conversion, DLP incident migration, and DLP operational events migration server tasks.
In Trellix ePO - On-prem, select Menu → Data Protection → DLP Settings.
On the General page, select the required setting from the drop-down list in the Backward Compatibility section.
The Trellix DLP extension supports the specified Trellix DLP Endpoint client versions.
