Configure proxy server settings in ePO - SaaS

If you are using a web-proxy server to connect to the internet, configure the proxy server settings in ePO - SaaS for the Trellix DLP Network - SaaS appliance to connect to ePO - SaaS.

The settings entered in this page override the proxy server settings entered in the Setup Wizard.

  1. In ePO - SaaS, go to MenuPolicyPolicy Catalog.

  2. From Products, select Trellix Agent and click Repository.

    Note

    For appliances that are in different geographical locations or networks, configure proxy server settings for each of the appliances by creating different policies.

  3. Create a duplicate of the Trellix Default policy or click Edit to update an existing policy.

  4. In Proxy settings, select Manually configure the proxy settings and enter the following details:

    Note

    The Use Internet Explorer settings (For Windows) / System Preferences settings (For Mac OSX) option is selected, by default and so, the appliance considers the proxy server settings entered in the Setup Wizard. To change the proxy server details, perform these steps and push the policy.

    1. Select a form for the address of the source HTTP or FTP location where the agent pulls updates.

      • DNS Name

      • IPv4

      Note

      IPv6 is not currently supported with Trellix DLP Network - SaaS appliances.

    2. Type the DNS name or IP address and port numbers of the HTTP or FTP source. If needed, select Use these settings for all proxy types.

    3. Select Specify exceptions to designate systems that do not require access to the proxy.

    4. Select Use HTTP proxy authentication and enter the user name and authentication credentials. Click Save.

  5. Assign and apply the policy to the Trellix DLP Network - SaaS appliances in System Tree.

    1. Click System Tree and create a subgroup by clicking New Subgroups to add and manage all Trellix DLP Network - SaaS appliances deployed in the network.

    2. Select the subgroup and click the Policies tab.

    3. Select Trellix Agent in the Product field.

    4. Click the Edit Assignment link of the policy with proxy server settings.

      The Policy Assignment for My Organization page opens.

    5. Select Break inheritance and assign the policy and settings below and change the assigned policy to the policy you created.

    6. Click Save.

    If the policy is updated in future, you can use the Wake Up Agents option to push the policy to the appliances immediately.

    1. Select the subgroup of appliances in System Tree and click the Systems tab.

    2. Click ActionsAgentWake Up Agents.

      The Wake Up Trellix Agent page opens.

    3. Select Force complete policy and task update and accept the default Randomization (0 minutes), or type a different value (0-60 minutes). If you type 0, agents communicate immediately.

    4. Click OK.

The policy with proxy server settings is assigned to all appliances in the subgroup.
