About an allowed list
An allowed list allows you to control which messages, URLs and other entities can be bypassed based on the matched email entries. No further analysis is performed.The Email Security - Server appliance will scan an email for malicious content except the sender email address, sender domain, sender IP address, or the recipient email address that you defined. Both the URL and MD5 checksum attachment are automatically whitelisted.
Email entries matching the allow policy rules that you defined for the sender email address, sender domain, and recipient email address are case-insensitive.
Usage guidelines for configuring rules on an allowed list
Follow these usage guidelines when you are configuring rules on an allowed list:
IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are supported. Use a regular expression to define allowed IP addresses, for example, ^192.0.2.1$.
You cannot use non-ASCII characters when adding a rule for the sender domain.
You can import the rules that you defined on an allowed list to your appliance from a single CSV file. For details about how to create the CSV file, see Importing or exporting an allowed list.
Exact match as well as partial match for a URL rule and MD5 checksum is supported; substrings, wildcards, and regular expressions are not supported.
