Device groups simplify rules while maintaining granularity by combining several device templates into one group.
Device groups can be created as described below, or with a script containing REST API calls. The administrator running the script must be a valid ePO - On-prem user who has permissions in ePO - On-prem Permission Sets to perform the actions that are invoked by the APIs.
For details about product features, usage, and best practices, click ? or Help.
In ePO - On-prem, select Menu → Data Protection → DLP Policy Manager → Definitions.
In the Device Templates pane, select Actions → New Group, then select the type of group.
Three device group types are supported: Fixed Hard Drive, Plug and Play Device, or Removable Storage Device.
Enter a unique Name for the group and optional Description.
Select the Applies to option for Microsoft Windows or macOS devices.
This field is not available for fixed hard drive device groups.
Using the check boxes, select the items to add to the group.
You can filter long device template lists by typing some text in the Filter items text box and clicking Go.
Click Save.
