The Flash Backed Write Cache (FBWC) installed on the RAID controller preserves the write cache contents in its flash memory. Upon power loss, the super capacitor provides power to the RAID card while it copies write cache contents into flash memory.
Trellix DLP 8800 and Trellix DLP 7700 appliance doesn't use an internal backup unit (super capacitor). Install the backup unit for the DLP Capture RAID controller using the single tier backup unit to protect the RAID cache if there is a power outage. The Trellix DLP 6600 appliance is installed with a single tier backup unit (super capacitor), by default. Replace the single tier backup unit with the double tier backup unit to protect the RAID cache if there is a power outage.
