You can choose to include or exclude certain files when scanning a repository for more granular results. You can set this option when you are creating a scan or when you edit an existing scan from the Scan Management page.
On the Scan Management page, select a scan or click New Scan.
The details of the scan appear on the right pane.
Go to Filters.
Options to specify files to be included or excluded from the scans are displayed.
Select files to be included in the scan.
Select All Files to scan all files in the repository. This is the default option.
Select Specific Files to include only specific files or file types in the scan. Click Add from Catalog to open the File Information pane on the right. Select the file type from the File Information pane, then click + to add them as a filter.
Select files to be excluded from the scan.
Select Nothing to scan all files in the repository. This is the default option.
Select Specific Files to exclude only specific files or file types in the scan. Click Add from Catalog to open the File Information pane on the right. Select the file type, then click + to add them as a filter.
(Optional) To add or edit file information definitions:
In the File Information pane, from the three-dots menu, click Manage to open the Classification → Definitions → File Information page on a separate tab.
Select Actions → New Item and replace the default name with a unique name for the definition.
Select properties to use as filters and fill in the Comparison and Value details. Click Save.
To view the newly created file information, refresh the Scan Management page.
On the Scan Management page, click Save and Apply Policy.
During the scan, only files mentioned in the Include filters are scanned while files or file types mentioned in the Exclude filters are ignored.
