Prev Next

Database Security sensor is installed on a Sun Solaris platform using a PKG file.

  1. Download the appropriate .pkg.bin installation file for sensor from the Downloads site.

The installation file name specifies the version and build of the software, in the format: Trellix-dbs-sensor-<version#>-<build#>-<architecture>.pkg.bin

    Note

The sensor installation files for Sun Solaris platform are available in Sensor Packages (UNIX).

  2. Copy the sensor installation file to the database host server.

  3. Log on as the root user, then run this command to install the sensor:

    sh <installation file path>/Trellix-dbs-sensor-<version#>-<build#>-<architecture>.pkg.bin

  4. (Optional) To view the optional parameter for advanced installation, specify [–h] to this command:

    sh <installation file path>/Trellix-dbs-sensor-<version#>-<build#>-<architecture>.pkg.bin [–h]

The optional parameters are displayed and you can follow the on-screen instruction.

  5. Read and accept the end-user license agreement.

The bin creates and installs a PKG file named Trellix-dbs-sensor-<version#>.pkg

  6. When prompted, enter the Database Security server’s IP address and listening port.

  7. Run this command to start the service:

    /etc/init.d/mfe-dbs-sensor start
