Register the appliance with ePO - SaaS from the Setup Wizard

Prev Next

After the appliance installation is complete, the appliance restarts, and the Setup wizard starts automatically. Use the Setup Wizard to configure network settings and provision the appliance with ePO - SaaS.

If you installed the software using the serial console on a hardware appliance, use another method, such as the RMM, to complete the Setup Wizard.

  1. Choose the language for the Setup Wizard, then configure the basic network settings.

The wizard contains information to help you configure the settings.

    1. On the Welcome page, select Basic Network Setup and click Next.

    2. Complete the options on the Basic Settings page.

Configure the Trellix DLP Network Monitor – SaaS appliance as a standalone device or as a member of a cluster. For the appliance to be a member of a cluster, set it as a packet acquisition device or as a dedicated scanner.

      Note

Setting a cluster role causes a reboot when the changes are applied. Later, to change the cluster role, reset the appliance to factory defaults and apply the cluster role you want.

It is recommended not to configure a Trellix DLP 8800, Trellix DLP 6600, or Trellix DLP 7700 hardware appliance model connected with the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array (JBOD) as a Trellix DLP Network Monitor packet acquisition device. The Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array remains unused as the PAD doesn't scan and store capture data.

Change the default password the first time you run the Setup Wizard and click Next.

      Note

The new password must have at least eight characters. The default password is password.

    3. Complete the options on the Network Services page, then click Next.

    4. Review the information about the Summary page and make any corrections.

    5. Click Finish.

The initial network settings are applied. The first time you complete the Setup Wizard, or if you need to register with a ePO - SaaS, the wizard restarts after the network settings are applied.

  2. Register the appliance with ePO - SaaS:

    1. Select Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - SaaS Registration and click Next.

      Note

DLP Capture and automatic registration of documents features are currently not supported and if you have enabled these options, the Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - SaaS Registration option remains disabled.

    2. Enter the registration token that you generated in ePO - SaaS.

    3. (Optional) Enter the web proxy server settings and logon credentials to complete the Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - SaaS Registration page.

If you are using a web-proxy server in your network to connect to the internet, configure the proxy server settings for the Trellix DLP Network - SaaS appliances to connect to ePO - SaaS. To change these settings later, you can edit Proxy settings in ePO - SaaS, which override the settings entered in Setup Wizard.

Click Test Connectivity to confirm that the web proxy server can be reached from the appliance.

    4. Click Finish.

  3. Log on to ePO - SaaS.

The appliance appears in the System Tree and is managed by ePO - SaaS. If needed, move the entry to the required group or create a subgroup to manage all appliances in the hierarchy.

Note

If you want to reprovision an appliance with a different tenant account, deprovision the appliance managed by ePO - SaaS and delete the appliance from the System Tree of the existing tenant account. For information about deprovisioning an appliance, contact Technical Support.
