To strengthen appliance security, you can set the password complexity for the local appliance administrator user account using the DLP Appliance Management settings. By default, the complexity is set to a minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum length of 70 characters.
Note
The password must be changed only from the appliance console or SSH menu. Setting it through the command line does not synchronize the password for all DLP services. If changed through the command line, the password has to be updated again from the SSH menu.
Set the password complexity in your default policy before changing the password in the SSH menu:
In ePO - SaaSePO, go to Menu → Policy Catalog.
Select DLP Appliance Management, choose Users and Groups, and open the policy you want to edit.
Browse to Password Complexity and set the conditions for password complexity and click Save.
Password complexity allows you to set the minimum length, alphanumeric characters, and special characters required in a password. It also enables to set the expiration time for a password.
Note
Password complexity can only be set for the local administrator account and not the AD user accounts, which are assigned administrator privileges.
To push the changes to the appliance immediately, in System Tree → Systems, select the appliance and click Wake Up Agents.
In the Wake Up Trellix Agents page, select the Force complete policy and task update checkbox and continue to use the other default settings. Click OK.
