Use case: Assign read-only permissions for non-administrators to view rule sets in DLP Policy Manager

Prev Next

You can assign permissions for non-administrator users to only view the rule sets and the rules within the rule set. For this, assign the View the rule set details and rules permission with a combination of one or more Manage permissions based on the category to which the user needs access in DLP Policy Manager. With these permissions, the users can view the rules within a rule set to understand what rules are applied to the endpoints, but can't edit the rule sets.

  1. In ePO - SaaS, select MenuConfigurationUsers & Roles.

  2. Select the role you want to edit.

The Assigned Permissions for that role is displayed.

  3. Select Data Loss Prevention DLP Policy Manager.

On the right pane, all permissions for the DLP Policy Manager category are displayed.

  4. Select View the rule set details and rules and one or more of these checkboxes to enable permissions to view rule sets.

    • Manage Data Protection rules

    • Manage Device Control rules

    • Manage Discovery rules

  5. Click Save Changes.

The users now have read-only permission to view the rule sets and rules.
