Use case: Create a custom query and use it to create an incident summary report you can email to others

You can download a summary report of incidents to email to users who don't have access to ePO - SaaS.

  1. In ePO - SaaS, select MenuReportingQueries & Reports, then select the Queries tab. Click New Query.

    The Query Builder appears.

    1. In the Result Type tab, select Data Protection from the Datasource Type drop-down in the left-hand pane. In the Result Type pane, select the type of incidents for your query, then click Next.

      Note

      The creation of Boolean Pie Charts is not currently supported. In the Configure Chart pane, the Number of option in the chart values drop-down is also not currently supported.

    2. In the Chart tab, select the information for the chart or table to display the primary results of the query, then click Next.

    3. In the Columns tab, select the columns you want to display in the drill-down table. You can move these columns left or right when you click the arrow next to their heading.

    4. In the Filter tab, choose from options in Available Properties in the left-hand pane to narrow the search results, then click Run.

    The Unsaved Query page displays the results of the query, which is actionable.

  2. To view incident details, click the values in the pane on the right.

    Incident Management opens, displaying the filters selected in your query. To return to the Query Builder, click Back in the bottom-right corner. If the query didn't return the expected results, click Edit Query to go back to the Query Builder and edit the details of this query.

  3. To use the query in your report, click Save.

    The Save Query page appears. Type a name for the query and add any notes. The system places the new query in Shared GroupsCustom Groups.

  4. In MenuReportingQueries & Reports, select the Reports tab. Click New Report.

  5. Use the items in the Toolbox pane on the left and the links at the top of the page to add, remove, rearrange elements, customize header and footer, and change the page layout. Your saved query can be selected from the Query drop-down in the Configure Query Chart pop-up menu.

  6. Click Save in the bottom-right corner. Type a name and add a description. Click OK.

    The new report is saved in Shared GroupsCustom Groups.

  7. Click Run. When the report is complete, you can select it. Click Schedule to run a report at a specific time.

A PDF of the report downloads. Incident reports are currently limited to 10,000 rows.
