The Email Security - Server appliance includes full support for MVX engine analysis of archived files in attachments from the email traffic stream: CAB, MSG, ZIP, RAR, LZH, TNEF, and 7-ZIP.
Archived files are extracted and analyzed; results are displayed on the eAlerts pages in the File Type (FT) column. The Email Security - Server appliance supports extraction and analysis of multiple recursive hierarchical levels of archived files.
The default levels for archive scanning are:
The first 5 files
Only 3 levels deep
