Add devices to the device tree

Build a graphical representation of your system so you can monitor and maintain it.

Make sure the devices are installed according to the hardware guide (physical appliances) or installation guide (virtual devices).

  1. On the system navigation tree, click Local ESM or a group.

  3. Select the type of device you are adding, then click Next.

  4. In the Device Name field, enter a device name that is unique name within this installation. These characters are invalid in device names:

    ! @ # $ % ^ & * ) ( ] [ } { : ; " ' < > , / ? ` ~ + = \ |

  5. Click Next.

  6. Provide the information requested:

    • Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - On-premises devices — Select a receiver, type the credentials needed to log on to the web interface, then click Next. To use for communicating with the database, type the settings.

      Note

      Select Require user authentication to limit access to users who have the user name and password for the device.

    • All other devices — Type the Target IP Address or URL for the device and accept the default values for the other fields.

  7. Select whether to use Network Time Protocol (NTP) settings on the device, then click Next.

  8. Enter a password for this device, then click Next.

Trellix ESM tests device communication and reports on the status of the connection.
