Add processes to high risk or low risk category

You can add a process and set its scan process type as high risk or low risk. You can use this option to optimize the performance of the software when scanning the files. If a process is not associated with any of the process types, the software applies the standard settings while performing an on-access scan.

  1. Click the Trellix menulet GUID-9BE2692D-7F54-44CB-AE3B-3D141955024E-low.png on the status bar, then select Preferences.

  2. On the Threat Prevention tab, click GUID-8CC2C84C-B44D-4B10-A920-D4E503DB9CC1-low.png, type the administrator password, then click OK.

  3. Click On-access Scan tab.

  4. In the Process Settings section, click Configure High/Low Risk process settings.

  5. Click GUID-213AEF71-3D9B-4242-AB47-3B513C7B845E-low.gif in the bottom left corner of the console to select the process or programs.

    Note

    Select a process inside an app (not the app) when you are adding a process to the High/Low Risk scan settings.

  6. Optional, click GUID-B312C0D9-FC8E-483D-AA90-610D5BED19AF-low.png to remove the process or programs.

  7. From the Process Type drop-down list, select High Risk or Low Risk.

  8. Click GUID-52897A50-A206-4BD9-9A2A-FA22858761B5-low.png to prevent further changes.
