boot bootmgr tools password ＜password＞

Sets the Tools menu password in plain text. The Tools menu provides access to boot manager utilities. If a password is not configured, the preset default password obtained from Trellix Technical Support must be used to access the Tools menu.

Note

Alternatively, you can use the boot bootmgr tools password 0 <password> command to set the password in plain text, or use the boot bootmgr tools password command and enter the plain-text password at the prompt.

Syntax

boot bootmgr tools password <password>

Parameters

password

The plain-text password.

no boot bootmgr tools password

Use the ‘no’ form of the command to restore the preset default Tools menu password. You must obtain this password from Trellix Technical Support before users can use it to access the Tools menu and the boot manager utilities it provides.

Example

The following example sets "fyd4k8q2" as the password for the Tools menu.
