Log on to a new Trellix ESM for the first time.
Verify whether you are required to operate the system in FIPS mode.
Clear your browser cache to prevent logon issues.
Open the command prompt for Trellix ESM 11.6.x.
At the login prompt, enter

Disabling the DHCP setting on an AWS or Azure VM deployment is not supported. Request a static DHCP address, if a permanent IP address is needed.
Select Manage IP Configuration from the list of commands and then select:

Ssh Port
Enter the Ssh port.

Save Changes
Save the changes.
Open a web browser and go to the IP address you set when you configured the network interface.
Select the language for the console, then enter the default user name (
NGCP) and password (security.4u).Click Log on.
Accept the license agreement.
When prompted, change your password then click Save.

Select whether to enable FIPS mode and, if you click Yes, enter the additional confirmation.
Important
If you must work in FIPS mode, enable it the first time you log on so that all future communication with Trellix devices is in FIPS mode. Do not enable FIPS mode if you are not required to.
Read the Rules Update Access information and click Ok.
The Write Settings progress monitor appears. The process might take several minutes.
When the settings have been written, click Ok.
(FIPS mode only) Enter your password when prompted.
The Initial ESM Configuration wizard appears.

Set the language, time zone, and date format, then click Save.
Click Finish.
The normalized dashboard opens.
