When you want to install Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) 26.x on a new endpoint with custom settings, command-line tools let you import settings that you have saved (also called exported) to a file.
How the command-line tools work
This method of installing the software with custom settings requires two command-line tools:
On the endpoint where Trellix ENS is installed — Run
ESConfigToolwith the export option to save the settings to a file. This tool is located in the Trellix ENS Platform folder (C:\Program Files\McAfee\Endpoint Security\Endpoint Security Platform, by default.On the endpoint where you want to install Trellix ENS — Run
SetupEPwith the import option to install the product and overwrite the default settings with the settings in the file.
Before you begin
In additional to the requirements for installing on self-managed endpoints, you need to:
On the endpoint where Trellix ENS is installed — Configure the product settings for your needs.
On the endpoint where you plan to install Trellix ENS — Make sure that:
You have administrator rights.
You know the password to unlock Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) Client, if the interface mode is not set to Full access. You'll be asked to enter it on the command line.
