Create a virtual Trellix SIEM device on the AWS image

Use an AWS machine image to create a Trellix SIEM device.

  • Determine the number of cores and amount of memory needed for the new device.

  • Run the installation script on the temporary Linux server.

  1. On the AWS console, click Launch a virtual machine.

  2. On the Choose AMI tab, select an instance type with sufficient cores and memory to run the device. Device specification sheets can help you determine the requirements.

  3. On the Choose Instance Type tab, select m4.2xlarge and set the Network and Subnet.

  4. On the Configure Instance tab, configure the machine.

  5. On the Add Storage tab, select a Volume Type and set Size.

  6. On the Configure Security Group tab, select a network security group.

  7. Click Review and Launch.

  8. Select a key pair and click Launch Instances.

  9. On the AWS console, select Instances then select the new instance.

  10. Click in the Name column and type a name.

  11. From the left navigation menu, select Security Groups.

  12. Enable HTTPS, HTTP, and SSH.

  13. Click Connect and follow the instructions to log on to the new device using a web browser.

    Note

    Disabling the DHCP setting on an AWS VM deployment is not supported. Request a static DHCP address, if a permanent IP address is needed.
