email-analysis policy url-scan enable

Enables or disables the URL scanning feature.

The EMPS_URL_SCAN license enables the Email Security — Server appliance to scan URLs that are sent through email for links to suspicious or malicious files. This feature protects against spear phishing emails used in targeted attacks.

When you enable URL scanning, the Email Security — Server appliance can scan URLs within an email message body and either allow or block access to URLs. You can temporarily disable URL scanning on the appliance without removing the EMPS_URL_SCAN license.

Note

The URL scanning feature is enabled by default.

Note

Use the no static-analysis embedded-urls enable command if you want to disable analysis of embedded URLs in PDF and DOC files.

Syntax

[no] email-analysis policy url-scan enable

Disables URL scanning.

The following example enables URL scanning:

The following example disables URL scanning:
