fmps scan start

Starts a configured scan and specifies the scan type.

Note

When you create a scan, the type of scan is not defined. The scan is defined and it can be configure with attributes, but it is not started. For more information, see fmps scan create .

Syntax

fmps scan start <scanID> {continuous | listen | now | prescan}

Parameters

<scanID>

The numeric identifier for the configured scan.

continuous

Defines and starts a continuous scan.

listen

Defines and starts a listen scan.

now

Defines and starts an on-demand scan.

prescan

Defines and starts a pre-scan.

Examples

The following example starts scan 203 as a continuous scan.

hostname (config) # fmps scan start 203 continuous

The following example starts scan 85 as a listen scan.

hostname (config) # fmps scan start 85 listen
