hx agent proxy type

Specifies where the settings for the HTTPS proxy server are obtained by Trellix Endpoint Security Agent (HX).

Syntax

hx agent proxy type {system|manual}

Parameters

type {system|manual}

Specify either system or manual for the proxy type. There is no default.

Value	Description
system	This value indicates that the proxy settings are obtained from the host endpoint system. Note Web traffic is not blocked for contained Windows endpoints with the proxy type set to `system`. If your enterprise uses an HTTPS proxy server to allow endpoints on your network to access the Endpoint Security (HX) HX Series appliance and requires containment capability for your Windows endpoints running Endpoint Security Agent (HX) software version 26 or later, configure the proxy server with two separate IP addresses. Configure one IP address to reach the Endpoint Security (HX) appliance and configure the other IP address for whitelisting.
manual	This value indicates that the proxy settings are obtained from settings configured manually. When the proxy type is set to manual, the hx agent proxy server setting is required or your proxy server connection fails.

This value indicates that the proxy settings are obtained from the host endpoint system.
