Specifies the maximum number of alert messages that can be processed by the Endpoint Security (HX) appliance. If the number of alerts exceeds this threshold, the oldest alert messages are discarded. This command can be used to control Endpoint Security (HX) appliance behavior during alert storms.

Resets the maximum alert message limit to the default value of 1000000.
total-limit <number>
Specify a number from 0 through 4294967295 for the maximum alert message count. The default value is 1000000. Specifying 0 disables this threshold setting.
Example
The following example sets the maximum alert message count to 500,000:
