Trellix recommends that you use the set_keys.ps1 PowerShell script to provide some initial configuration settings, because you cannot copy and paste into the server console. See Specifying Initial Settings Using the Windows Hyper-V set_keys.ps1 PowerShell Script on page 1. However, if you do not use this script, the complete configuration can be performed using the configuration wizard in the Hyper-V virtual server console.
If the license update feature is not enabled, Trellix recommends that you accept the evaluation licenses during the initial configuration, because manual entry of license keys is error prone. After the activation code is entered and the admin user has access to the server Web UI or CLI , you can copy and paste the license keys.
Log in to the Windows Hyper-V Manager console.
Verify your virtual machine is turned on. To turn it on, highlight its row in the Hyper-V Manager console, right-click on the row and select Start.
Connect to the new virtual machine. Highlighting its row in the Hyper-V Manager console, right-click on the row and select Connect.
At the login prompt, enter admin.
If you did not change the admin password in the
set_keys.ps1PowerShell script, enter admin (this is the distributed admin password). If you changed the admin password in theset_keys.ps1PowerShell script, enter the new admin password.Start the configuration jump-start wizard:
hostname (config) # configuration jump-start
Answer the wizard questions as described in Configuration Wizard Steps on page 1.
