Install Trellix ESM on a VMware ESXi VM

Set up an Trellix ESM on an ESXi virtual machine. Deploying the Trellix ESM sets the foundation for your Trellix SIEM solution.

Note

When setting up provisioning, select the Thick option.

  1. Download the ESXi .ova files from the Trellix download site.

  2. In vSphere Client, click the server IP address in the device tree.

  3. Click File and select Deploy OVF Template.

  4. Specify the VM name, the folder to mount the VM, the disk provisioning setting, and select the VM Networking option.

  5. Deploy the files to the ESXi server, select the VM, and set the Edit Virtual Machine setting.

  6. Select the correct networking settings for your VMware ESXi network switches/adapters, then click Play to start the VM.

  7. Using the terminal menu, set the MGT1 IP address, netmask, gateway, and DNS addresses, then press Escto activate the menu. For more information, see the Configure a SIEM device from the terminal menu topic.
