Displays the messages in the email queue.

You can monitor your emails while they are being processed and held in the email queue.

show email-analysis message-queue

Output fields

The following table describes the output fields for the show email-analysis message-queue command. Fields are listed in the approximate order in which they appear in the output.

Field

Description

Queue Type

Emails are tracked and sorted into the following queue types:

  • Incoming Queue—Display all emails in the incoming queue. New incoming emails entering the MTA are initially placed in the incoming queue.

  • Active Queue—Display all emails in the active queue. Emails from the incoming queue are moved to the active queue to be forwarded to multiple message transfer agent (MTA) hosts.

  • Hold Queue—Display all emails in the hold queue. Emails are moved to the hold queue while they are being scanned by the Email Security — Server appliance.

  • Deferred Queue—Display all emails in the deferred queue. Emails are moved to the deferred queue if they cannot be delivered to the next-hop destination IP address.

  • Bounced Queue—Display all emails in the bounced queue. Emails are only moved to the bounced queue if the deferred queue timer has expired and soft bounce is enabled.

  • Maildrop Queue—Displays all emails in the maildrop queue. Emails are moved to the maildrop queue when they are ready to be sent to the next-hop destination IP address.

Queue ID

The message queue identification number of the email.

Arrival Time

Date and time when the Email Security — Server appliance received the email message.

Sender

Email address of the sender.

Recipient

Email address of the recipient.

Error

Reason that the Email Security — Server appliance placed the email message in the deferred queue.
