Upgrade support
This release supports upgrading from:
TACC extension 8.2.x, 8.3.0–8.3.8, 8.4.0, 8.4.1, 8.4.2, and 8.4.3
When you upgrade from the existing TACC extension, you must not change any existing rules and configuration until the Solidcore: Migration server task is completed. The migration task usually takes a few hours to a day, depending on the inventory data volume of your environment.
Note
Trellix recommends disabling General Policy enforcement before upgrading to TACC 8.4.x from any version earlier to TACC 8.4.x as it can override configuration values integrated with the extension in TACC 8.4.x to their default values. For details, see KB96798.

New or changed
IPv6 support—TACC 8.4.4 now supports full IPv6 compatibility, enabling secure communication between agents and servers, accurate policy enforcement for both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic, and enhanced visibility in network logs and the user interface. Additionally, trusted paths can now be defined using IPv6 shared locations, and TIE or GTI integration is fully supported in IPv6-based networks.
Change in default behavior for end Update Mode with inventory sync—Starting with this release, ending Update Mode using the sadmin eu command no longer triggers an automatic inventory sync by default. In earlier versions (TACC 8.4.2 and later), this automatic sync caused high CPU usage. If you want to restore the previous behavior, set bit 24 of Customerconfig2 using the following formula: current Customerconfig2 value + 16,777,216
Example: If the current Customerconfig2 value is 3, the new value is 16,777,219 (3 + 16,777,216).
