Upgrading the Logon Tracker module from previous release

For earlier versions of Logon Tracker , you must first uninstall the existing module, both from the server and endpoints.

Note

  • It is recommended that after uninstalling the server module, you must wait for several hours for the updated agent policy to take affect across the environment. This will thereby uninstall Logon Tracker from endpoints. An immediate uninstall/install may cause some endpoints to continue running the prior version of the endpoint module. Also note that this is not a concern, as the primary updates in this release are to the server module.

  • This release of Logon Tracker is not backward compatible with 0.3.x and prior releases. It is backward compatible with 0.4.x and 0.5.x. Follow the instructions provided in this section to upgrade supported versions.

To upgrade the Logon Tracker module from 0.4.x to 0.5.3:

  1. Log in to the Endpoint Security Web UI as an administrator.  

  2. From the Modules menu, select Endpoint Module Administration.

  3. Click the Available Modules tab and locate the Logon Tracker in the Module list.

  4. In the Actions column, click the gear icon, and click Upgrade.

  5. Navigate to the downloaded module .cms file, select the .cms file, and click Open.

    The selected .cms file appears in the Upgrade Logon Tracker dialog box.

  6. Click Upgrade

    A message appears at the top of the page after the upgrade is complete. The version number in the table is then updated to 0.5.3.
