Use the startup script to configure IPv4 or IPv6

Prev Next

By default, Trellix ESM uses IPv4. However, you can manage the IP configuration with the startup script. The following procedure applies to Trellix ESM, ACE, and ERC. It does not apply to ADM.

  1. After your Trellix ESM system boots up, select Option 9: Manage IP Configuration.

  2. Select the Mgt1 interface.

  3. Enter an option at the IPv6 [Enter Yes or No] prompt. If you don't enter an option, IPv4 is used.

  4. Enter the following network information:

    Note

You can use compressed IPv6 addresses.

    • IP address: A valid IPv4 or IPv6 IP address.

    • Netmask: Dotted decimal notation for IPv4, or prefix length for IPv6.

    • Gateway: A valid IPv4 or IPv6 IP address.

    • DNS1: A valid IPv4 or IPv6 IP address.

    • DNS2: A valid IPv4 or IPv6 IP address.

    • DHCP: Either on or off. If DHCP is set to yes, and all other fields are blank the corresponding attributes in the network.conf file are automatically allocated.

  5. Select Save Changes.

    Note

If the operation gets stuck for Trellix ESM or ERC, reboot the system to apply the changes.

  6. To apply the configuration, reboot Trellix ESM.

Note

If you are configuring IPv6, do not enter the netmask in the IPv6 address field. It must be entered separately as a numeric value.
