Appliance-level feed sharing

Prev Next

The Appliances page allows you to enable or disable feed sharing at the appliance level and view the current sharing status. The status in the Observable Sharing column can be Enabled (feed sharing is enabled), Disabled (feed sharing is disabled), or Unsupported (the appliance is not eligible for feed sharing).

This configuration enables the appliance to receive the observables that other appliances propagated to Helix Enterprise through feeds. To enable the appliance to propagate its own observables to Helix Enterprise for sharing with other appliances, local signature sharing must also be enabled. If local signature sharing is not enabled when you enable observable feed sharing, you are asked whether you want to enable local signature sharing. If you click Yes, local signature sharing is automatically enabled.

To manually enable local signature sharing, select the Enable LocalSig Stream checkbox on the Manage > Appliance Settings > Data Streaming page, or run the datastreaming helix localsig-metadata command in the appliance CLI. For more information, see the Helix Integration Guide.

To enable or disable observable feed sharing to the appliance:

  1. From the main menu, select Manage > Appliances.

  2. Locate the appliance with Disabled or Enabled in the Observable Sharing column.

  3. Click the menu in the rightmost column, and then select Share Feed.

  4. Select Enable or Disable, and then click Confirm.
