Helix Enterprise-enabled appliances automatically attempt to discover and connect with the cloud Helix Enterprise-enabled Central Management System appliance that is mapped to your customer ID. There are two exceptions:
Endpoint Security (HX) server. Trellix adds the cloud Endpoint Security (HX) server to the cloud Central Management System appliance.
Standalone appliances. To prevent these appliances from connecting to a Helix Enterprise-enabled Central Management System appliance, you must disable the functionality that allows the connection, as described in Preventing connections to a cloud Central Management appliance.
In an on-premises Central Management System deployment, you typically connect appliances manually to the Helix Enterprise-enabled Central Management System appliance using a server-initiated connection.
Appliances managed by the cloud Central Management System appliance do not download software updates (such as system images, security content, and guest images) from the Central Management System appliance.
For Helix Enterprise-enabled appliances, the default "CMS" download source is automatically changed to "CDN."
For appliances that are not Helix Enterprise-enabled, you must manually change the download source as described in Configuring CDN as the DTI source.
