Depending on your environment, Trellix includes multiple authentication methods for you to use:
Local—Users are authenticated against the local username database. This is described in Local user accounts and passwords.
RADIUS—Users are authenticated against a remote RADIUS security server. System configuration is described in Configuring a RADIUS server using the CLI.
TACACS+—Users are authenticated against a remote TACACS+ security server. System configuration is described in Configuring a TACACS+ server.
LDAP—Users are authenticated against a remote LDAP server. This is described in LDAP server configuration.
Active directory — Users are authenticated against a remote Active Directory server. System configuration is described in Configuring an active directory server using the CLI.
SAML — Users are authenticated against a remote Identity Provider (IdP) server. For more information, see Configuring SAML authentication.
Common Access Card (CAC) — Users are authenticated against a CAC server. For more information, see About CAC for certificate authentication.
Single Sign-On Using IAM — Users are authenticated against the IAM database. This provides a single sign-on method across all Trellix products. For more information, see Single sign-on authentication.
Important
The Trellix software uses the remote authentication methods as a client and does not become an authentication server itself.
