To create the virtual machine, you must complete the New Virtual Machine Wizard.
Make sure you have your operating system ISO image and license key.
Download and install VMware Workstation 9.0 or later.
Start the VMware Workstation.
On the VMware Workstation page, select →
To complete the New Virtual Machine Wizard, configure the following options, then click Next on each page.
Note
These steps are documented based on VMware Workstation 12 Pro.

Welcome to the New Virtual Machine Wizard
Select Custom (Advanced).
Choose the Virtual Machine Hardware Compatibility
From the Hardware drop-down list, choose the Workstation version based on the following criteria:
For Windows 10 or Windows Server 2016 Standard, select Workstation 11.x
For Windows Server 2019 Standard, select Workstation 15.5 or above.
For Windows 11, select Workstation 14.0 or above.
For other platforms, select Workstation 9.x.
For all other fields, use the default values.
Guest Operating System Installation
Select one of these options:
Installer disc — Choose a DVD or CD drive from the drop-down list.
Installer disc image file (iso), then click Browse and select the ISO image
For Windows 11, select I will install the operating system later option.
Select a guest Operating System Installation
Note
This page appears only if VMware is unable to detect the operating system (OS) from your OS image file.
From the Guest operating system list, choose Microsoft Windows.
From the Version drop-down list, select the Windows version.
For Windows 11, select Windows 10x64.
Easy Install Information
Note
This page appears only if VMware detects the operating system (OS) from your OS image file.
Enter the following:
Windows product key — License key of the Windows operating system where you want to create the VMDK file
Full name —
administratorPassword —
cr@cker42, which is the password that Intelligent Sandbox uses to log on to the VMConfirm —
cr@cker42Log on automatically (requires a password) — Deselect this option.
If the VMware Workstation message displays, click Yes.
Name the Virtual Machine
Enter the following:
Virtual Machine name
Location — Click Browse, then select the folder where you want to create the VMDK file
Firmware type
Select BIOS.
Processor Configuration
Use default values or processor: 2, core: 1.
Memory for the Virtual Machine
Enter the amount of RAM for your operating system. See Analyzer VM requirements to know the RAM size required for your operating system.
Network Type
Use the default value.
Select I/O Controller Types
Use the default value or LSI Logic SAS.
Select a Disk Type
Select IDE.
Note
SCSI disks are not compatible with Intelligent Sandbox.
Select a Disk
Select Create a new virtual disk.
Specify Disk Capacity
Enter the Maximum disk size (30 GB), then select these options:
Allocate all disk space now.
Store virtual disk as a single file.
Specify Disk file
Make sure that the <virtual machine image name.vmdk> appears in the field.
Click Customize Hardware (only for Windows 11)
Follow the below steps:
Select CD/DVD(SATA).
Browse and select the Windows 11 ISO image file.
Click Close.
Ready to Create Virtual Machine
Click Finish.
This step can take up to 30 minutes to complete.
Note
The sandbox VMs will be updated to multi processors during VM profile creation process on ATD.
