Enabling a notification service for an alert type using the CLI

Follow these steps to enable or disable delivery of an alert type by a Trellix event notification service.

The Trellix event notification service is globally enabled.
The alert type is globally enabled for distribution by Trellix event notification services.
Admin or Operator access to the SmartVision appliance.

To enable or disable delivery of an alert type by a Trellix event notification service:

Log in to the appliance CLI and go to configuration mode:
```
hostname > enable
hostname # configure terminal
```
Use the following command to map or unmap the specified network alert type to the specified event notification service:
```
[no] fenotify <protocol> alert <alertType> enable
```
Replace the <protocol> variable with one of the following values:
- email―SMTP email messages
- http―HTTP posts to Web servers
- rsyslog―Remote system log messages
- snmp―SNMP trap messages
Replace the <alertType> variable with one of the following values
- domain-match
- infection-match
- ips-event
- malware-callback
- malware-object
- riskware-callback
- riskware-infection
- riskware-object
- smartvision-event
- web-infection
Note
SmartVision Edition appliances do not detect IPS events.
The following example enables SMTP email notifications for events:
```
hostname (config) # fenotify email alert smartvision-event enable
```

Verify your changes.

hostname (config) # show fenotify alerts
