Enabling an appliance to register

Use the commands in this topic to manually enable an appliance to register with the Registry and Discovery Service (RDS).

Note
Appliances automatically register with the RDS after Helix Enterprise mode is enabled on them.

To enable an appliance to register with the RDS:

Log into the appliance.

Go to CLI configuration mode:

hostname > enable
hostname # configure terminal

hostname (config) # fenet rds discovery enable

Verify your change:

hostname (config) # show fenet rds discovery status

Save your change:

hostname (config) # write memory

Example

The following example enables the cm-03 appliance to register with the RDS.

cm-03 (config) # fenet rds discovery enable
cm-03 (config) # show fenet rds discovery status
Discovery and Registry Service Client:
  Discovery Client: 
    Client enabled      : yes
    Customer ID         : 900xxxxxxx
