Generating customized reports from the Reports page

The Reports page is used to generate consolidated alert reports.

Fields for the report generation are described in the following table.

Description

Report Type

The only report type is Alert Details.This report displays charts of all Alert Details by alert type over the time period selected, and includes a detailed summary.

Alert Type

This option is unavailable. The Intelligent Virtual Execution - Server appliance can generate only a malware object alert type.

Report Detail

Choose a level of detail:

  • Concise—Basic information, such as Alert type, ID, src_IP, malware name, hostname, and Alert URL.

  • Normal—Concise information plus OS Changes, callback details, and malware details, if available.

  • Extended—Normal information plus data-theft information (if any) and static analysis details. This format provides all details about files and objects modified during analysis.

Report Format

Choose a report format:

  • XML Normal—Generates a report in .xml format.

  • JSON (JavaScript Object Notation)—Generates a report in .json format.

  • CSV—Generates a report in comma-separated values (.csv) format.

  • Text—Generates a report in text format.

Time frame

Specify the time period for the report. Options depend on the report type. To specify a range of dates, select "between",and set the start and end dates.

To generate and view reports:
  1. In the Web UI, click the Reports tab.

  2. Select Reports from the drop-down list.

  3. Select Alert Details from the Report Type drop-down list.

  4. Select the level of detail for the report from the Report detail drop-down list.

  5. Select the format for the report from the Report format drop-down list.

    • xml

    • json

    • csv

    • text

  6. Select the time period for this report generation from the Time frame drop-down list.

    • past day

    • past week

    • past month

    • past 3 month

    • between

  7. Click Generate Report. The generated report is added to the top of the generated report list.

  8. Click the report link in the generated report list to view the generated report.

  9. (Optional) Export the XSD files. These files describe the structure of the Alert Details report.

    • To export the OS Change XSD, click the Get OS Change XSD link at the top right side of the page.

    • To export the Alert XSD, click the Get Alert XSD link at the top right side of the page.
