Trellix Intelligent Virtual Execution - Cloud (IVX Cloud) is an API-driven threat detection cloud service that scans content on demand to identify resident malware. A DOD subscription provides a certain number of submissions, which expire after one year. You can integrate a virtual File Protect appliance deployed as a sensor with Trellix Intelligent Virtual Execution - Cloud. With this integration, the FX sensor can submit files to DOD, which performs as a backend engine for inspection and analysis.
A virtual File Protect sensor integrated with MVX and IVX Cloud can be configured to use either IVX Cloud or MVX (on-premises) as the analysis engine. Using IVX Cloud as the analysis engine with your File Protect appliance provides more scalability than MVX.
The following is the task list to integrate IVX Cloud with your virtual File Protect appliance:
Generate an API authentication key in the IVX Cloud portal. See Generating API authentication key in the DOD portal.
Adding the API key to your virtual appliance. See Adding the API Key to the virtual File Protect appliance using the Web UI and Adding the API Key to the Virtual File Protect appliance Using the CLI.
(Optional) Perform API key configuration if you intend to add multiple API authentication keys. See DaaS API key management.
