You can use the Web UI to obtain a host key on a Central Management System appliance or on a managed appliance running Release 7.6.0 or later. Important
In a Network Address Translation (NAT) deployment, the host-key string might need to be modified. For details about configuring global host-key authentication in a NAT deployment, see the Administration Guide or System Administration Guide for your appliance.
To use the Web UI to obtain the host key of a supported appliance, use the Certificate Management page:
On a Central Management System appliance, the host key is the key that you will import into the global host-keys database of the managed appliance:
On a managed appliance, the host key is the key that you will import into the global host-keys database of the Central Management System appliance:
Prerequisites
Log in to the appliance Web UI.
Go to the Settings > Certificates/Keys page.
In the Keys section of the page, find the string that identifies the host key.
On a Central Management System appliance:
Appliance Public KeyOn a managed appliance:
Appliance Public Key (Use this key for managed appliance connections)
Copy the string starting with the IP address.
Do one of the following:
(Central Management System only) Paste the key into the Central Management System Web UI, as described in Importing a host key into the global host-keys database using the Web UI.
Paste the key into the CLI, as described in Importing a host key into the CM Series global host-keys database using the CLI or Importing a host key into the managed appliance global host-keys database using the CLI.
Paste the key into a text file and save it for later.
