Use the Certificate Management page to manually regenerate the system self-signed certificate.
Note
You can also download the certificate to your local file system, but there is typically no reason to do so.
The VX Series appliance has a CLI, but it does not have a Web UI. The recommended method for this configuration on a VX Series appliance is through the managing Central Management System appliance Web UI.
Click the Settings tab on all appliances except the HX Series. On the HX Series appliance, select Appliance Settings from the Admin menu.
Click Certificates/keys.
The top section lists the 'system self-signed' certificates and the bottom section lists all the certificates.
Among other details, the time left and expiration date is displayed for each self-signed certificate.
Click the corresponding cog icon under the 'Actions' column on the right side, and select Regenerate.
Click Yes on the Confirmation dialog box.
Confirm that the certificate was regenerated:
The Time Remaining changes to 365 days, and the Expire Date changes accordingly.
A message at the top of the page informs you that the regeneration was successful.
Click Export.
Verify that the
system-self-signed.crtfile was downloaded to your computer.
