Synching PX and NDR metadata through CLI

Prev Next

To sync the Packet Capture Series metadata with the NDR Series, you will need to set up the configuration on both platforms. The NDR appliance has the keys required for the Packet Capture to communicate with the NDR. You must transfer the keys to the PX. This allows the Packet Capture to communicate with NDR so that it can receive Packet Capture search data.

Note

Use care when entering the Packet Capture appliance's IP address or FQDN during the NDR configuration. If you enter the wrong IP address or FQDN you will transfer the files to the wrong PX appliance. If you enter an invalid IP address FDQN you will have to wait for the appliance to time out before you can try again.

Important

Only the NDR's Eth0 interface is supported for cluster communications.

Prerequisites

You will need:

  • Shell and CLI access to the Packet Capture

  • Shell and CLI access to the NDR

  • PX appliance's IP address or FQDN

  • Password for the Packet Capture NPSCP account
