Testing Trellix event notifications for an event type using the CLI

Follow these steps to test Trellix event notification settings for a network event type.

The Trellix event notification services (syslog messages, SMTP email, SNMP traps, and HTTP posts to Web servers) are set up.
Admin or Operator access to the SmartVision appliance.

To test Trellix event notification settings for a specific event type:

Log in to the appliance CLI and go to configuration mode:
```
hostname > enable
hostname # configure terminal
```
Verify that the test-fired event triggers the expected Trellix event notifications. Use the following command:
```
fenotify test-fire <alertType>
```
Replace the <alertType> variable with one of the following values
- domain-match
- infection-match
- ips-event
- malware-callback
- malware-object
- riskware-callback
- riskware-infection
- riskware-object
- smartvision-event
- web-infection
Note
SmartVision Edition appliances do not detect IPS events.
The following example sends a test notification for Malware Object alerts:
```
hostname (config) # fenotify test-fire malware-object
Sending test notification...
```
