The File Protect appliance command-line interface

The FX appliance includes a standard command-line interface (CLI) that can be used to configure, manage and monitor the FX system.

To log into the CLI using a terminal window or SSH client:

Using the SSH protocol, log in to the appliance using the management interface’s IP address or hostname.
```
$ ssh <username>@<ipAddress>  | <hostName>
```
where ipAddress specifies the IPv4 or IPv6 address of the management interface.
When prompted, enter your password.
Password: <password>
The hostname > prompt is displayed after you are logged in.
