There are two types of appliance groups.
Trellix groups. There is one Trellix system group for each appliance type that by default contains all appliances of that type. For example, the Email Security — Server group by default contains all Email Security — Server appliances.
There are two system groups for Network Security appliances. The Network Security system group contains Network Security appliances running the Classic or SmartVision product edition. The Evidence Collector system group contains Network Security appliances running the Evidence Collector product edition.
Custom groups. You can create a custom group, add one or more appliances of the same type, and apply specific settings to the group. Custom groups are flexible and easy to manage, because you can add or remove appliances and fine-tune appliance settings for a group as needed. Custom groups are global, so all Helix Enterprise administrators can view, edit, and delete any custom group.
An appliance can belong to only one group. If you add an appliance to a custom group, it is removed from the Trellix group. If you add an appliance that is a member of one custom group to another custom group, it is removed from the previous custom group.
Note
Appliance groups and group details are created and saved in Helix Enterprise. They are not propagated to the appliances.
