This procedure describes how to use the Settings > Email MTA page to configure a domain and next‑hop IP addresses.
Restrictions
TLS Delivery Mode can be set to None, Opportunistic, or Mandatory. The Verify delivery mode does not support domains that forward to multiple MTA hosts.
A domain can support up to five next-hop addresses.
The total of the weighting values assigned to the next-hop entries must equal 100.
Prerequisites
An established connection between the appliance and the Internet.
You are logged in to the appliance Web UI as an Admin or Operator.
Go to the Settings > Email MTA page.
In the Add Domain and Next‑Hop section, enter a domain name in the Domain text box.
If you want to enable email for all subdomains of the specified domain, click the Include Subdomains checkbox.
In the TLS Delivery Mode field, select the mode that the MTA uses to deliver email.
(Optional) To configure the MTA to use DNS MX record translation on the next-hop IP address, select the Enable Next-Hop MX Lookup check box.
In the Next-Hop column of the table entry, enter the IP address of the next-hop appliance.
In the Weight% column of the table entry, enter a weighting value. This value specifies the percentage of the outbound connections that need to go to that MTA.
To add another next-hop MTA IP address, click the Add Additional Next‑Hop link and repeat the previous two steps.
After all next-hop entries have been defined for the domain, verify that the total of the weighting values you entered in the Weight% column is 100.
Click Add.
To verify your configuration changes, check the new entry that appears in the Current Domain and Next-Hop table.
