You can enable or disable URL scanning by using the Email Security - Server appliance Web UI or CLI:
When you enable URL scanning, the Email Security - Server appliance can scan URLs within an email message body and either allow or block access to URLs. When URL scanning is disabled, the appliance does not scan URLs or extract embedded URLs from the PDF and Microsoft Office file types within an email message body. You can also temporarily disable URL scanning on the appliance without removing the EMPS_URL_SCAN license.
Note
The URL scanning feature is enabled by default.
Note
If you want to disable analysis of embedded URLs in PDF and Microsoft Office files, see Enabling or disabling analysis of embedded URLs in files using the Web UI or Enabling or disabling analysis of embedded URLs in files using the CLI.
Prerequisites
Administrator or Operator access to the Email Security - Server appliance.
The EMPS_URL_SCAN license must be installed and valid. (See the Email Security — Server System Administration Guide for details.)
