Setting up fiber SFP NIC for use with Trellix DLP 8800 appliance

Caution

If the appliance is turned on, shut down the appliance before removing the power cords. Make sure you unplug the power cords and the network cables from the appliance before you open the appliance cover.

Before you handle the RAID controller, SFP NIC, or other hardware components, make sure that you fasten the Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) wrist strap to ground yourself to the chassis.

Unpack the Trellix DLP fiber SFP NIC package and verify that you received all parts listed in the contents sheet.

Install the fiber SFP NIC inside Trellix DLP 8800 appliance

Note

If you have already installed the RAID battery backup unit, displace the backup unit to some other location in the appliance or place it as shown after installing the SFP NIC.

  1. Remove the thumbscrew to open the OCP slot that is below the PCIe riser slot to insert the NIC.

  2. Install the fiber OCP card and connect it back to the appliance. Secure back the thumbscrew of the NIC.

  3. Insert the SFP - SR/LR transceiver into the first and second port.

  4. Connect the power supply cables of the appliance to its respective power supply source.
