Trellix DLP or Trellix DLP – SaaS appliance software can run on Trellix DLP 8800, Trellix DLP 7700, or Trellix DLP 6600 hardware appliance models. Prepare the hardware appliance models for deployment and integration in the network.
Note
DLP Capture is currently not supported in Trellix DLP – SaaS, do not install the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array if you plan to migrate to Trellix DLP – SaaS.
You need additional storage space to hold the captured data needed to run the DLP Capture feature. You can use the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array with Trellix DLP 8800, Trellix DLP 7700, or Trellix DLP 6600 appliance to capture data to search potential data loss incidents. Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array and other hardware components are shipped in a separate box.
Caution
Read this guide for the step-by-step instructions before setting up the hardware. Don't connect to the power sources until the hardware installation is complete as both the appliance and Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array are set to ON by default when the power sources are connected. Also, don't turn on the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array until the appliance is set up. Apply the power only when the hardware installation is complete.

Trellix DLP 8800 appliance back panel and port assignments
Applicable to Trellix DLP 8800 appliance:
Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (DLP-CSA-B) or Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (DLP-CSA-A)).
Identify the RAID controller connections and RAID backup unit (Identify the RAID controller connections (Set B) or Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (DLP-CSA-A)).
The Trellix DLP 8800 appliance doesn't use an internal backup unit (super capacitor). Install the backup unit for the DLP Capture RAID controller using the single tier backup unit to protect the RAID cache if there is a power outage.
Install the RAID backup unit inside Trellix DLP 8800 appliance and install the RAID controller inside Trellix DLP 8800 appliance. Connect the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array to the Trellix DLP 8800 appliance after installing the boxes in the racks.

Applicable to Trellix DLP 7700 appliance:
Prepare the Trellix DLP 7700 appliance for use with Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array.
Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel ((Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (DLP-CSA-B) or Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (DLP-CSA-A)).
Identify the RAID controller connections and RAID backup unit (Identify the RAID controller connections (Set B) or Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (DLP-CSA-A)).

(Supported only with DLP-CSA-A.) Prepare the Trellix DLP 6600 appliance for use with Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array.
Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel ( Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (DLP-CSA-A)).
Identify the RAID controller connections and RAID backup unit (Identify the RAID controller connections (Set A)).
The Trellix DLP 6600 appliance is installed with a single tier backup unit (super capacitor), by default. Replace the single tier backup unit with the double tier backup unit.
Install the RAID controller inside Trellix DLP 6600 appliance and install the RAID backup unit inside Trellix DLP 6600 appliance. Connect the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array to the Trellix DLP 6600 appliance after installing the boxes in the racks.

Install and remove appliance rack handles (Applicable to Trellix DLP 7700 and Trellix DLP 6600 appliances.)
Install the DLP 8800 appliance in a rack OR Install DLP 7700 or DLP 6600 appliance in a rack.
Connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to the appliance. Connect the appliance.
(Optional) Install the fiber SFP NIC.
Connect the appliance power cords. The appliance ships with two AC power cords specific to your country or region. Turn on the appliance.
Connect the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array power cords. The Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array ships with two AC power cords specific to your country or region. Turn on the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array.
