Management of Native Encryption - SaaS — October 2023 Repost Release
Management of Native Encryption - SaaS — December 2022 Release
Management of Native Encryption - SaaS — May 2026 Release Notes
Trellix Native Drive Encryption - SaaS (TNE - SaaS), also known as Trellix Management of Native Encryption - SaaS (MNE - SaaS) — May 2026 release includes resolved issues.
Every update release is cumulative and includes all features and fixes from the previous release.
Important: This release addresses an issue that affects a limited number of customers where BitLocker recovery keys fail to appear in ePO - SaaS, potentially resulting in user lockout. This issue can occur in environments that use cloud-native identity
management, such as Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). Endpoints utilizing an on-premises Active Directory are not affected. For impacted customers, we strongly advise verifying that recovery keys are accessible in ePO and upgrading to Trellix Management of Native Encryption 5.2.5 to prevent the issue from recurring. For details on how to identify missing keys
in ePO and remediation steps, see Knowledge article 000015395. For details on how to prevent the BitLocker recovery key prompt from occurring, see Knowledge article 000015397.

Trellix Management of Native Encryption - SaaS December 2022 release includes product rebranding changes. Every update release is cumulative and includes all features and fixes from the previous release.
Product rebranding changes
As Trellix continues to evolve, you will begin to see our solutions reflect our new name and brand. In this release, you will notice the following changes in the software. This rebranding change requires an effort from your end if your enterprise manages root certificate updates manually.
Product Name - McAfee Management of Native Encryption for use with MVISION ePO is renamed as Trellix Management of Native Encryption - SaaS.
Brand logo — McAfee logo and name are replaced with Trellix logo name.
End User License Agreement and Copyright — The End User License Agreement and Copyright are updated as per legal requirements. Read the agreement for details.
As part of rebranding, the certificates used to sign our software have been updated. If your enterprise automatically updates root certificates, the software update/installation does not require any additional effort. However, if your enterprise manages root certificate updates manually, you need to install the new intermediate and root certificates. For information about downloading and installing the certificates, see KB91697.
Updated platform, environment, or operating system support
You can get the latest information about supported platforms, environments, and operating systems from KB91980.
Unsupported features
The Trellix preboot, automatic network unlock, and Data Protection Self Service Portal features that are available with MNE 5.2.x for Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - On-premises are not supported in this release for the Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - SaaS platform.
Release version
This release of MNE for the ePO - SaaS platform is identified as version 2212, where the version identifier follows a yymm convention. For more information about using MNE managed from ePO - SaaS, see the Trellix Management of Native Encryption - SaaS Product Guide .
The documentation and product version of MNE on ePO - On-prem is identified as version 5.2.x.
The endpoint (client) version of MNE remains as 5.2.x irrespective of the management platform in use. Both ePO - On-prem and ePO - SaaS use the same client package. This eases the process of migrating from ePO - On-prem to ePO - SaaS management of endpoints with MNE already installed.
