Trellix® Security for Microsoft Exchange (TSME) 8.8.2 Update 1 includes new feature support.

Every update release is cumulative and includes all features and fixes from the previous release. We recommend that you always upgrade to the most current update.

Release details

This release was developed for use with:

  • Trellix Security for Microsoft Exchange 8.8.2

  • ePolicy OrchestratorTM - On-prem (ePO - On-prem) 5.10.x

This release was developed and tested with:

  • Engine Version — 6800.10657

  • DAT Version — 11473.0000

Rating

This release is mandatory for all environments. Failure to apply mandatory updates might result in a security breach. Mandatory updates resolve vulnerabilities that might affect product functionality and compromise security. You must apply these updates to maintain a viable and supported product.

Libcurl upgrade — This release upgrades the Libcurl version to 8.10.1

Installation instructions

Before you install this update, ensure that TSME 8.8.2 is already installed on your system. This update is incompatible with earlier versions of the software and is based on the Windows Installer update framework. You must install all required components to ensure proper product functionality.

You can deploy this update either as a standalone installation or through the ePO - On-prem server on a system running TSME. To remove the update and revert to the original setup, you must reinstall TSME 8.8.2.

Install the update on a standalone server

To install the update on a standalone server:

  1. Extract MSME88Patch1.zip from the package to the C:\Temp directory.

  2. Double-click Setup_x64.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.

  3. Click Finish.

Install the update using ePO - On-prem

To install the update on managed servers using ePO - On-prem:

  1. Extract MSME88Patch1_for_EPO.zip from the package to the C:\Temp directory.

  2. Log on to the ePO - On-prem server.

  3. Navigate to Menu → Software → Master Repository.

  4. From the Actions menu, select Check In Package, add the update package, and click Next.

  5. The Package Options page appears with the package information. Click Save.

  6. In the New Client Task Assignment tab, create a task to schedule an immediate update using the Product Update option.

  7. Select Trellix Security for Microsoft Exchange 88 Patch1 8.8.2  under Patches and Service packs, then run the Wake-up Agent.

The managed server automatically reboots after the update is installed. If not, manually reboot the system.

Test the installation

To verify that the update was successfully installed, navigate to Dashboard → Versions & Updates → Product Information. The updated version should display as Patch1.
