Assigning a policy to a host set

Prev Next

If you want to apply custom policies to a group of hosts, you can create a host set and apply the custom policies to all hosts in the set, as described in this section.

Note

All host endpoints have the Agent Default policy applied automatically.

For special cases in which you want to apply custom policies to a single host, create a host set that has only that host in it.

Prerequisites
  • Admin access

To apply a policy to a host set:
  1. Log in to the Endpoint Security (HX) Web UI.

  2. On the Manage Hosts menu, select Host Sets.

  3. Click the Assign Policies to Host Sets button in the upper right corner of the page.

The Assign Policies to Host Sets page appears.

  4. Select a host set from the Host Sets column.

  5. Select the policies to assign to the host set in the Policies column.

  6. Review the details of a host set or policy on the Selected Host Set or Selected Policy tab.

  7. Click Save.

Note

If a host is added to an existing host set, the policies applicable to that host set are sent to the newly added host.

For more information about policies, including how to prioritize the order in which policies are applied, see Endpoint Security Agent (HX) Administration Guide.
